TAURUS WORLD STUNT AWARDS, Hollywood 2007 and 2009 for "Best Action in a Foreign Film"
Autobahn cop Semir Gerkhan and his various partners patrol the fastest streets in the world, risking their necks in high-speed chases and hair-raising stunts that sometimes end fatally.
After Semir's last partner Chris Ritter died in his girlfriend's arms, young hotspur Ben Jäger is the next to try his hand at Semir's side in the death-defying duo. Supported by ball-busting chief Anna Engelhardt, who covers their backs when the sparks go flying, and assisted by slightly dim beat cops Dieter and Horst - the only beat cops to drive a Porsche Cayenne - it's bad news for car thieves, hijackers, robbers and killers all over. When Cobra 11 is in opursuit, you can run - but you can't get away.
Since 1996, nearly 200 episodes of the high-octane, high-adrenaline "Cobra 11" series have been produced - crashing over 3100 vehicles on a specially-built autobahn section, the largest film set in Europe, and shooting 1 million feet of 16mm stock with up to 16 cameras going at once, for stunts like jumping a Porsche over 650 feet. The most expensive guest star was a Fulda Exelero, a custom-built sports Maybach worth € 9 million - which survived its chase scene without a scratch.
