The documentary HEART OF JENIN (Original title: DAS HERZ VON JENIN) is nominated for the 31st News and Documentary Emmy® Award in the category "Outstanding Informational Programming Long Form". The Emmy® Awards will be presented on Monday, September 27th in New York City. TELEPOOL's sale to the US Network WNET THIRTEEN for WIDE ANGLE resulted in an Emmy® nomination. It's the second time in a row that a documentary, distributed by TELEPOOL, is nominated for an Emmy.
HEART OF JENIN tells the story of Ahmed Khatib, a Palestinian boy shot dead by Isreali soldiers. His father decides to donate his son's organs to Israeli children as a gesture of peace. A powerful documentary on people, who have learned to live with everyday conflict, but have not given up their hope for peace. HEART OF JENIN is a film by Leon Geller and Marcus Vetter, produced by EIKON Südwest in coproduction with SWR and in collaboration with ARTE. TELEPOOL is handling worldwide sales. |

15 June 2010 GRAVITY wins the 2010 SIFF New Directors Showcase Special Jury Mention | |

GRAVITY, directed by Maximilian Erlenwein (2009) has been awarded the 2010 SIFF "New Directors Showcase Special Jury Mention". Jury statement: "We also want to recognize the stylistic and storytelling promise evidenced by Maximilian Erlenwein in his film GRAVITY." The Golden Space Needle Award winners were announced on June 13th.
The New Directors Competition jury was comprised of: Marcus Hu, Strand Releasing; Michael Kananack, NeoClassics Films; and Christian Vesper, IFC and The Sundance Channel. |

TILL FAITH DO US PART (a.k.a. UNTIL NOTHING IS LEFT) was market leader on yesterday's TV premiere. 8,69 Million people watched the controversial drama about a Dianetics dropout. It's the highest rated TV programme on a Wednesday prime-time slot on ARD in 10 years with a sensational market share of 27,5% (all audiences) and a 17,3% share in the main target group (14-49).
For the first time a German broadcaster has tackled the hot-button issue of Scientology. The 90' drama (German OV, English subtitled) is inspired by a true story. |
